Northern Wings Aviation was established by Jim Ortman in Bozeman, MT. 2010. We fly charters throughout the western United States, offer flight instruction and maintain a strong focus on natural resources aviation in support of wildlife surveys and fighting forest fires.

Our pilots have a variety of experience. Owner and Director of Operations Jim spent a decade flying the Alaskan bush followed by 25 years in the airlines; a career which culminated as captain flying international operations on the Boeing 747. Our current roster of pilots includes experienced USFS Contract pilots, Flight Instructors and we are experienced mountain pilots.
